Why are we entertaining these small scale miners? Their operations are akin to illegal miners. Whoever tells you they do responsible mining is a liar. No responsible mining in Ghana. They should all be banned.....

Changfang is used for nothing but only in galamsey activities and its ban is long overdue. In my estimation, Anwiankwanta on Kumasi-Obuasi/Bekwai highway is headquarters of manufacturing of changfangs. I think the ban must come from parliament rather than EPA in order to carry more weight. Ghana is beating about the bush in the fight against galamsey because there's no difference between small scale mining and galamsey activities. If there's a difference then it's the license issued to small scale companies otherwise their operations are the same. Why give license to someone to go mine and destroy river bodies, forests etc with state backing? Our politicians are not serious. Kai
