  If Mahama is serious about resetting the country in the right direction, he should put the necessary infrastructures in place via his soon-to-be released constitutional amendments, to ensure that future infractions and pilfering of national resources meet the full scale of the law, whether one is president or a parliamentarian. Punishment should include repayment of every stolen pesewa plus interest, as well as the thief serving a significant prison time.
  
  In some countries like Vietnam, a person who steals national resources faces the gun. And the bullet for his own death has to be paid for by family members. We need such consequences in Ghana. It baffles the mind that we have children learning under trees; some even walk across open rivers to get to school. These are future leaders, suffering before they know what life is. In the meantime, our leaders steal to buy Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Maybach, Bentleys, etc. Are we serious as a nation?
