The Chiefs in the Volta Region have beautifully proven how easy and effective our madness with galamsey can be controlled, but the other greedy, criminal, and hopeless Chiefs are pretending to be helpless & blameless.

It is not the duty of the Chief of a Traditional Jurisdiction to fight Galamsay. They can rather help fight it. Get the District Assemblies, the Police, and the Opinion Leaders involved. Chiefs cannot enforce the laws because they don’t have the trained and Armed people to do it. It is rather unfortunate that people sent to fight Galamsay are not promptly and well paid. And we have to understand that the people who sit at the banks of rivers do not wash their hands with Spittle. That is the hard truth.

The pollution of Offin river starts all the way from Ashanti Region(Offinso, Amansie, Adansi area etc) before it even enters Denkyira. There source is nothing those downstream can do
