Why is this exam still called WASSCE? Ghana pulled out of the WAEC (Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone) some years back for whatever reason. Since then Ghat sets it's own questions unlike in the past when it was rotating among the 4 countries. It is strange though when comparison is made between performance among the 4 countries when in fact they write different exams. The right name for Ghana's exam will be GHASSCE. I think if Ghana wants to continue the use of WASSCE then we should return to join the other 3 counties who for West African Examination Council

It all stems from this Abrokyire mentality where their uncles and aunties without fear forge travelling documents to travel abroad. Some of the students too have been promised to be sent abroad if they passed their exams. WAEC should be arresting both students and invigilators to send the right signals to them. The names of people who engaged in exam malpractices should be published so that foreign missions will deny them visas in the future.

Why is it that Uncle Sam doesn’t put emphasis on the level of and quality of English language spoken in her schools. They are just horrible. If the English language used in Ghanaian schools are that bad, blame Efo Julor Jeremiah Rawlings who directed that students should not be failed in Schools. We were the Teachers but we had no option but do what HE WHO MUST BE OBEYED DIRECTED. Yes that ignorant monster directed that. After all he was a flop at the GCE O Level at Achimota of all schools.

I gather from the speaker that candidates from the regions mentioned will be adversely affected by reckless cancellations, withholding of results and other forms of victimization. Students from other regions enter universities with good grades but could not write their names or meantion all the letters in the english alphabet but such regions were not mentioned because in the current dispensation they are royals. When I was in college and university, while some of us will be burning the midnight candle, these guys/ladies will not learn, but surprinsingly will pass. Either they go and bribe some of then lecturers to get tips. That's who they are.

Les forces de sécurité togolaises viennent de porter un coup dur à la criminalité organisée dans la capitale. Un vaste réseau de braqueurs, principalement composé de ressortissants nigérians, a été démantelé à Lomé et dans ses environs, après plusieurs mois d’opérations violentes marquées par des vols à mains armées et des bris de vitres de véhicules.

Tout est parti d’un braquage spectaculaire survenu le 21 octobre 2025 à Hédzranawé, où des individus lourdement armés ont ouvert le feu sur un véhicule avant de s’emparer de biens de grande valeur. Dans la foulée, la Gendarmerie nationale et la Police nationale ont lancé une enquête conjointe pour identifier et interpeller les auteurs.

Le 22 octobre, les gendarmes ont mis la main, à Kpémé, sur quatre ressortissants nigérians retranchés dans une auberge. Un cinquième complice a été arrêté plus tard à Lomé par la Police nationale. D’autres membres du réseau, déjà identifiés, sont toujours en fuite.

Leur mode opératoire était redoutable : les malfaiteurs ciblaient leurs victimes à la sortie des banques, les suivaient discrètement avant de les attaquer à main armée, ou encore brisaient les vitres de véhicules pour s’emparer de sacs et d’objets de valeur.

Grâce à une étroite collaboration entre la population et les forces de sécurité, une importante saisie a été effectuée :

3 fusils d’assaut AK-47,
14 chargeurs,
une grande quantité de munitions,
un véhicule utilisé lors du braquage du 21 octobre,
et plusieurs autres objets.
Les cinq présumés braqueurs arrêtés seront prochainement présentés au Procureur de la République près le tribunal de grande instance de Lomé.

La Gendarmerie nationale et la Police nationale saluent la vigilance et la coopération de la population, qu’elles invitent à poursuivre en signalant tout mouvement suspect.
