  Mr Sarpong lost his life at 71yrs ,he had enjoyed govt freebies since 1981.The young pilots and their colleague never had that benefit, so his family cannot speak on their behalf. Ghanaweb ignore NDC propaganda

  First and foremost, the weather was BAD so the pilot should have made a U-TURN to Kumasi to save the lives of the eight souls on board. On the day of the crash, it was raining in Accra through to Nsawam, Koforidua, Kumasi and Obuasi. Infact, on the day of the trip to Obuasi, the whole of SOUTHERN GHANA was raining so the pilot should have anticipated bad weather. To me, the pilot gambled with the lives of the eight.

  The report raises more questions than answers. Sudden loss of altitude without change in power. Wasn't there a change in the altimeter of the aircraft? Was there an instrument error as well or the pilot was not focused on the instrument panel. Now, what about the visible telltale evidence of low flying over the village for quite a distance before crash, which all the villagers reported? So, the pilot couldn't see this and attempt to make a lift or turn around or emergency landing in the village school park? Or the steering gear was jammed, perhaps. The bottom line was that the pilot might have listened to unprofessional advise to take a risk. I have been in a similar situation before where an airline stuck to its guns and refused to fly in bad weather in spite of pressure and threats of multiple suits from passengers. The airline didn't budge; didn't put any body in a hotel and all remained until the following morning when conditions were a bit. Even here, at takeoff before the aircraft could gain cruising height it encountered a wind that slapped its and caused a sudden drop in altitude. But the pilot reacted quickly and climbed to a higher altitude. Passengers that had protested the night before and still complaining in the aircraft suddenly became quiet throughout the flight, so broken. On landing, passengers so shattered and grateful to be alive quietly picked the their and went to their homes, reciting their Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee .. deliver us ... now and the hour of our death.
