Good idea. But how about the cost? Will government subsidize the hotels and restaurants? Also, safety and quality assurance?
What's better than a freshly killed chicken to one that has been frozen for years and filled with chemicals to preserve it. If it's local you can order it a day before use and it would taste better and wholesome.
Ghana can use VAT and other import duty taxation to make imported poultry products so expensive that will encourage use of Ghana products
You’re the deputy minister of agriculture. Do the feasibility studies and with the consent of your boss kick start it! Cost and availability is the obvious concern here but we must start from somewhere

This is not feasible government can only intervene in supplying public schools etc not private hotels who can buy imported poultry at lower prices and remember they pay duties and taxes to government so it’s a two edged swo ...

I support that initiative 1000%.. let’s talk this step to support local farmers and also at least eat fresh chicken.
You can start with hotels and restaurants.. but let’s try and enforce on the general market with time.

Good but prices must be competitive to the imported chicken otherwise it would not work. The final solution is ban imported chicken.
