Nurses and teachers should look for their own jobs like everybody else. That's how it's done in Europe and the America's and we tend to copy them.

The government need to be hard and take action on them.

It is a seed they are sowing and it will germinate to be something else.

Since the beginning of the fourth republic which government has ever declared a budget allocation to the Ministry of Defense for scrutiny.

Do they know the quantum of money allocated to the Defense Ministry of some countries whose GDP is far far too low than Ghana.

Do they think the peace we are enjoying in Ghana as a nation is on a silver platter.

It takes a lot from the defense Ministry and other security apparatus to get to where we are now.

The government should crash this association on time, because they are enjoying freedom in peace, they are talking rubbish.

It's a bad situation for us all, not just the teachers. The only way NDC government can make economic gains is cut down employment and use that money as artificial 'life-support' for the cedis. Government continues to pump millions of money to keep a good exchange rate rather than implementing economic policies that will naturally strengthen the cedis. Since Ghanaians prefer exchange rate politics the government will do anything, include cutting down employment so they can use the money to stabilize the cedi. We will see the actual value when they no longer have money to bailout the cedis. The same thing happen in JM first term, where he couldn't post trained teachers and nurses, and had to freeze employment in public sector until he was voted out. The first time voters didn't experience this, and wanted their own experience and now they have it too.

Sometimes I feel that Ghanaians are very petty: we had a government in office for eight years and we all felt comfortable with 17,000 unemployed teachers. Just ten months into its administration, we feel that this new government should be able to swing the magic wand and employ all of the teachers within the blink of an eye.
Now if it were possible we could have done so within the eight years of the previous administration. Let's be sensitive about our own plight and not only be partisan and selfish.
This government at least is making everything possible to get these teachers employed in batches. These teachers should be grateful and leave government to do it's job. The employee has no moral right to determine for the employer how recruitment should be done. This is clearly not acceptable, you only plead for things to be done and set not conditions for your employer.
If they have that power to employ, why didn't they do so over the last eight years? Why don't they employ themselves now? Let's grow an attitude of gratitude for once as a people and stop being petty.
Are these people saying that the security of this nation is irrelevant and must not be a priority to government? If this is how they're thinking then they shouldn't be asking for 17000 of them to be employed because there are the nurses and other professionals also wanting to be employed.
Anyways, is the price of the aircrafts what they are quoting?
