IGP Yohuno should be granted a two year extension to complete the changes that he has envisaged for the police department that has crumbled under the celebrity IGP Dampare. The police force has been reduced to ceremonial officers who are deficient in the actual work of policing. Civilians are confronting police , police stations are being burned down by mobs , criminals are breaking into police stations to free their comrades, armed robbery beyond police control, highway robbery on the rise , Sakawa and ritual killings are beyond the reach of the police . Ghana needs a robust police force under an IGP with vision and an interior ministry headed by a tough minister to squash these despicable criminals.
