The police force has been reduced to ceremonial officers who are deficient in the actual work of policing. Civilians are confronting police , police stations are being burned down by mobs , criminals are breaking into police stations to free their comrades, armed robbery beyond police control, highway robbery on the rise , Sakawa and ritual killings are beyond the reach of the police . Ghana needs a robust police force under an IGP with vision and an interior ministry headed by a tough minister to squash these despicable criminals.
