The community of Ahyia Yeboah, near Sokode-Juaso close to Akyem Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, has been gripped by shock and unrest following the discovery of the body of a man who went missing earlier in November.
According to an adomonline.com report on November 25, 2025, 45-year-old farmer Emmanuel Kwakye Daria reported on November 16 that his younger brother, Kwadwo Debrah, had disappeared after travelling to Foforfo to retrieve a mobile phone.
Debrah, a civilian employee at Burma Camp - not a military officer as initially speculated, did not return, prompting a search by community members.

On Tuesday, November 25, a search team discovered his body in the Bediasi River, a development that triggered tensions among residents.
In the agitation that followed, three houses were reportedly set ablaze, though personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service quickly intervened to prevent further destruction.
Police have since arrested five individuals in connection with the incident, while another suspect is currently on the run.
Security officers have since been deployed to the area to help restore calm and support ongoing investigations.
A pathologist has also been dispatched to assist in safely retrieving the body from the river for examination, the report added.

Authorities say the assessment will help determine the condition of the remains and provide clarity amid earlier speculations within the community.
The area remains tensed as residents call for justice, while police intensifies efforts to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
