The only Ghanaian aeronautical engineer at NASA helping with space exploration is an alumnus from GSTS. Almost all the top brass of the military in Ghana are old boys of GSTS. Nobody expected pupils from regions in the forest belt to travel to the coast where the slave masters had come back to establish their exploitative bases.

Wesley Girls was originally established as an elementary or primary school and not a high or secondary school. So, in terms of educational institutions, WG is the oldest.
HOWEVER, Kwabotwe was established as the first SECONDARY school. Hence when talking about tertiary education, Kwabotwe was the first in 1876.
WG later evolved to become a secondary school (the second after Kwabotwe) in 1884
