We like pointing accusing fingers. When Akomfour told citizens there were 'Gods' living in rivers and forests so the people must not pollute and destroy them, the people listened! Women in their periods were forbidden to go to the stream to fetch water. Some forests were no go areas. People were forbidden to go to the forests on certain special days.
Christians came and told the people no 'God' lives in rivers. They told them such beliefs are paganism and look at where it has taken us. Are there not pastors on TV asking galamseyers to come for 'direction' so they can get more gold? As a first step let all pastors in Ghana tell their congregants that the rivers and forests belong to Jesus so all Christians must stop galamsey activities in rivers and forests to protect what belongs to the Lord, amen!
