  The one who told Ghanaian youth to go and cut grass and pick stones for a living is now the Minister for Employment. It is curious how the President has come to settle on him among all the people. Maybe just maybe, the President shares his approach at addressing youth unemployment. The last time workers' salary increment was fixed that low, cost of living allowance was paid. Mr. Minister, will you consider advising your friend, the President, or we should go and cut grass to augment our salaries?

  Hahaha, during the 2025 salary negotiations, the president had to leave his office and rush to the ministry of labour to engage the leadership of labour in determining the minimum wage in the presence of this minister. The president knew if the allows the minister alone to engage labour leadership they will floor him. Hope the president will be around again to bail this minister out. Labour should ask the president to withdraw the 9% salary increase for 2026 and allow water and electricity rates to also remain as they are. No salary increase, no water and electricity increases. What's the sense in giving someone 9% and turn round to ask same person to bring 26%. Keep your 9%, i keep my 26%. Simplicita

  What dialogue. Mahama's increased his appointee salary by over 65 percent. But gives only gives 9% to with his roght hand while using his left hand to take 13% from them through utility hike. Insensitive government.

  The Cedi has appreciated meaning the cost of producing and doing business has come down as a result of that.
  But the problem is that our utility distributors are behaving like the market woman who believes that when the price of the commodity she sells in the market drops, she must sell it in accordance with the year in which she is selling the commodity.
  The price of the commodity she is selling has dropped by 25% down the price at which it was sold in 2024. But she believes that we are in 2025, to her understanding of business is that the price of goods and services must increase every year.
  So what she buys at GHC100.00 and sold at GHC200.00 last year. She buys the same at GHC80.00 and sells it at GHC250.00 this year because we are in 2025 not 2024.
