  In Ghana, Swiss Management Center was registered in as a foreign university and was accredited by The National Accreditation Board (Ghana) - NAB. In August 2016, this accreditation status was removed. SMC held accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business, Schools and Programs (ACBSP) from 2007-2018.
  The German database on foreign educational certificates anabin classifies SMC as H- category "Not recognized institution".

I understood it to mean that since they have recently not been accredited, any new titles or degrees from that institution will not be valid in Ghana as a matter of fact. On the contrary, those who obtained their degrees as at the time they had accreditation in Ghana will still be recognized.

Mind you, Ghana happens to be the o my country where at some point, it got accredited.
  
  No PhD programs takes two years to complete, even for full time students, much more these so called lecturers who worked full time and ended up with two degrees simultaneously, from SMC and Nicaragua. How is that possible?

Let's just be honest with ourselves. Some Ghanaians desire titles but aren't ready to sweat for it. I know one man who was a mate of mine in UCC. Infact, this guy was very weak to the extent that, a day before exams, he would go to the lab where the exams would be written, copy a whole note book on the white lab bench top, and ensure that he would sit at that same spot the following day of the exam so he'll be able to copy. He did that throughout the course, but unfortunately for him one day the invigilators saw through his game and changed his position. That day, infact, he was such a pitiful sight to look at. Recently I chanced upon his Facebook account and he has stated in his profile that he is a PhD holder from SMC. Waaa, look at this. Such a person. Smh. Ghana is doomed.

  What is truly insulting is that GTEC in Ghana does not recognize doctorates obtained from SMC, even though these degrees are highly respected and valued outside Ghana. To all the doctors who graduated from SMC, we are proud of you—across Europe and the Americas, your title of “Doctor” is fully recognized and carries no stigma. The evidence is clear: many of you are teaching abroad and enjoying the full professional privileges of your qualifications. Meanwhile, even graduates from the University of Ghana are sometimes required to take additional courses or examinations for international acceptance. This raises a serious question: why does GTEC seek to undermine the credibility of the NAB? Is this not a form of institutional sabotage? Does the new leadership of GTEC intend to suggest that the previous NAB management was incompetent?

  But what is special of this SMC that one institution's staff all thronged to it for their doctorate degrees? We have universities in the country for such courses; to make special arrangement with the then NAB for your staff to get degrees from SMC and so-called University of Nicaragua does not make sense. What is surprising is that many of the awardees suddenly rise within few years or even months to become professors. GTEC is doing a great job in clamming down on these degree.

  Alabi’s wife got a doctorate from SMC and another from Nicaragua, within two years. Somehow, she became a member of the accreditations board and ultimately, SMC became accredited in Ghana, making it the only country where this fake university is erroneously legitimate. Is she not the board chair of the school of mines? How, Ghana!!!!

  It's a very big shame that Ghana's education system has become more political hence the resuts we are getting. Let's remove politics from education otherwise things will get worse.
