Why now? Because he's a hypocrite like the rest of the politicians yearning for the dissolution of that agency. These politicians know that the AG's office doesn't have the resources to come after them, but that the OSP's existence and empowerment amounts to more hands of the law coming after them and possibility leading to their prosecutions. Okudzeto, in all the eight years that the OSP was in existence under the NPP government of Akufo-Addo, never cared to make any noise about the OSP since these NPP politicians were confident that the OSP was designed to go after their political opponents. Ghana needs the OSP as an additional corruption fighting agency since too many of Ghana's [politicians and their crooked cronies are shameless thieving looters.

They (the council of state) advised Akufo Addo to establish this office. And now, he wants the world to know that there are many other state institutions that could have performed the functions of the OSP. Yes, we know but under your watch, but office was formed! Deleting or adding more systems will not solve any problems regarding Corruption or antisocial practices. What are you Suggesting? I am afraid , our Society is ROTTEN to the Core. What do you expect when The Appointees were appointed by Not so “CLEAN” person , the Entire Society is “fucked up” absolutely Full of misfits of all sorts. We will soon end up with Extremely Corrupt PROSECUTORS of all stripes. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah foresaw this coming and formed the Ghana Young Pioneers to Inculcate into our YOUTH the Needed Leadership of self discipline.
