I am not trying to stir emotions, but my question is, how did a Mamprusi become a chief in a town full of Kusasis who are natives of the land?

  • Kwaku Marfo 20 hours ago

The colonialists are the source of this confusion. They used the "centralised" Mamprugu society to impose a representative of Nayiri on the native "ancephalous" Kusasi's in Bawku. After independence, subsequent goverments too ...

Marfo, When did the colonist come to the Mamprugu area? Before they even came chiefs eere being installed in the area. And for sure, they neitherKusasi', Grumah, Bimomas, Mosis etc who all were inhabitants of the area?

  • Evans 20 hours ago

@Pelicles, very good question, how? It runs against all reason why some people especially the Mamprusi people should want to become Over Lords on Kusasi land. This issue is so straight forward and need not be dragged at all.T ...

Who makes a person a chief? Do chiefs have to come from a Royal line like the Asantehene or can chiefs be manufactured by Governments?

The war has to be escalated into the Mamprusi areas in North East where there will be gun fires everyday at the doorsteps of the Nayiri. That is the only way he will learn sense. At the moment, they train and send warriors fr ...

Who is Baako? Is this piece official or you are writing to suit your whims and caprices?

  • kk 18 hours ago

Actually, the government of Ghana, is the OVERLORD of Mamprugu. We just tolerate your chiefs. Makes for nice cultural show. You have no real power. If you doubt it, gather your boys and let them face the Ghana army.

  • EXCELLENT SUMMARY AND RESPONSE BY NAYIRI 1 hour ago

    Great stuff.

  • Baako 1 day ago

Why are you not reporting the Nature rejection of the report. Mamprugu will not accept today and never.
How does a mediator takes sides.

  • Truth 23 hours ago

What difference does it make even if he takes sides. You have refused to accept the legally recognized chief, a point that is undeniable. Nothing will make you change your minds and everyone has become aware of that. It's tod ...

Massa stop the noise & give peace the chance.

Well spoken. The Maprugus have enough Land spanning from after wulegu to before savelugu. This expansist mindset in this modern era will only lead to the Nayiri falling foul of genocide or war crime laws. Give peace a chance.

  • Nkwa Kwame 20 hours ago

@Baako there is no sides to be taken. The Mamprusi people know very well where they come from so why forment trouble on Kusasi land when you are not a son of the land.As settlers the Mamprusi people should simply behave like a ...

The people of Bawku United both Kusasi and mamprusi and forget these old people..

  • Mossi man 19 hours ago

My grandfather is the Nayiri. This is a fact because the founder of the Mossi Empire grandfather was a Mamprusi King.
I'm not taking sides. The fact of the matter is that Bawku belongs the Kusasis.

  • Salim 19 hours ago

    @ Baako
Is it by force to rule someone?
British came, ruled us and left and they never claimed ownership of Ghana, so Manprusi should also leave and let the Kusasi rule themselves, simple

With this ruling, I think the Asantes should also hand over Tuobodom to the Bonos, because the Bonos also deserve fair deal

  • Papakyene 15 hours ago

    @kojo Poku
Asantehene does not install chieves at Tuobodom.
The Bonos r those from Wamfie, Tachiman.
Nobody is forcing anyone for allegiance.
Get rid of ur hatred and political lenses

  • Learn Learn 15 hours ago

Bono has no centralized chief. Besides the Gyaman and Takyimans were conquered by the Asantes, so the Tuobodom etc lands belong the Asantes, unlike the Kusasis who were never conquered by the Mamprusi's.
