This conflict reared its ugly head during the first Republic when politicians exploited tribal affiliations to garner votes for themselves and at the same time punish dissenting tribes. The role of some politicians in stoking the flames of conflict remains the number one impediment to resolving this terrible problem which has now spread to engulf other tribes in the region

Their children are even outside the country, and financially saved, for their future. If they think this way, they will love themselves more in their struggles to survive, instead of allowing politicians to use them for their selfish gains. My Bawku brothers and sisters think beyond chieftaincy issues and strive for development, be you a royal or ordinary citizen. Your lifes and those of your generations matters most. Spend the politicians money, and if they talk trash, ignore them. See beyond the politicians and think about development. That's how the southners live to survive. We don't do anything special.
