The Okuapehemaa does not have any feud with the Traditional Council and neither has she done anything that has brought disgrace to the said Council or Okuapeman state.

Her disagreement is in respect of one Kwadwo Kesse, the self styled Okuapehene who was assisted and imposed upon these same chiefs by Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo when he was president of Ghana

As a law abiding person, the Okuapehemaa resorted to the houses of chiefs and the courts to seek redress and the said petition is not concluded yet. She has stated one basic fact and it is that the said Kwadwo Kesse has not appropriately been processed, as per Akropong customary practice amd usage, to be a chief and much less the Okuapehene. Her beef is that to the extent that the said Kwadwo Kesse parades himself and presides over activities of any Akuapem Traditional Council activities as the president, she will not be part of it and that the reason for which she has not been part of any programs of the Council where Kwadwo Kesse continues to usurp that tole of Okuapehene. This is plain and simple. How can you attend a meeting presided over by an individual you have petitioned against!!!

The Okuapehemaa has on no occasion undertaken anything which suggests that she has encouraged violence and neither has she said gone ahead to do anything to foul the corporate image of Okuapeman.

Indeed this purported slaughter of a sheep is part of the grand design by cohorts of Kwadwo Kesse to create confusion within the Traditional set up in Akuapem so that Kwadwo Kesse can continue to see and call himself the Okuapehene.

This supposed suspension move was crafted by certain individuals who foisted this move on the Traditional Council. There was no prior discussions at all and the call for a show of hands by the chiefs on support of the said suspension with Kwadwo Kesse presiding over the meeting, with all of the chiefs being aware that the said suspension will inure to Kwadwo Kesse's continued illegal occupation of the Okuapehene position, was not only demeaning and dictatorial but utterly shameful.

It is however heartwarming that the Manfehene and a senior chief at that openly voiced out his disapproval of what had been done. Indeed he was categorical in saying that what was done vis a vis the content of a purported petition was confusing and that the lack of consultation among the chiefs and clarity and transparency prior to the acts undertaken was not befitting enough of them as chiefs. It is unfortunate Ghanaweb chose not to add that bit.

Let it be said that Okuapehemaa remains at peace with herself and that these charade at the Traditional Council ruffles no feather of hers whatsoever. She continues to keep her eyes on her goal to make Akuapem chieftaincy pristine and worth the while
