  Look at Awaso and its surroundings. From the 1940s bauxite has been mined and raw bauxite is shipped around the world. Alcan and Rio Tinto toyed with the refinery idea but never got to fruition. The Aluminium industry requires better planning.

  Is there plans to put up bauxite processing plant in Ghana to transform the bauxite to alumina (aluminum oxide) to feed Valco Aluminum factory (VALCO) who import alumina, their raw material from outside Ghana?
