IGP promotes 17 officers for exemplary service

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted 17 officers to their next rank for their exemplary conduct, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

The ceremony, which took place on January 14, 2026, included two senior officers, as indicated in a post shared on social media by the service.

“The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on 14th January 2026, promoted seventeen Police Officers, including two(2) Senior Officers, to their next ranks in recognition of their exemplary conduct, professionalism, and dedication to duty,” the post indicated.

The officers were promoted in appreciation of their exceptional performance in the discharge of their duties, especially their commitment to operational excellence, discipline and service to the nation.

The initiative forms part of the services’ attempt to motivate personnel who exhibit outstanding integrity and commitment in the line of duty.

The IGP and members of the Police Service Management Board (POMAB) congratulated the officers and urged them to regard their promotions as a call to greater responsibility, leadership, and accountability.

They further advised the entire police service to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty, and service to the public.

The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a means of encouraging and enhancing effective policing nationwide
