  Some of the problems faced by the public companies are self inflicted. Passengers join the buses and the conductors don't give out tickets yet the passengers pay. On 15/01/26, around 4.00 pm or thereabouts, I boarded one of these buses. There was a lady conductor. She collected 6…⁵0 ghc and gave me a ticket with a face value of 8.50 ghc. She gave a very flimsy excuse. Worst still she issued tickets to other passengers without giving them tickets. I challenged again and as before, her excuse was bogus. I got to the bus terminal at Amasaman and reported the matter to her seniors. How far that matter will go is anybody's guess as they're all beneficiaries of the deal. So we the passengers will continue to suffer.

  Traffic congestion has become a significant challenge, affecting productivity, increasing travel time, and contributing to environmental pollution. Establishing dedicated bus lanes would encourage the use of public transportation by making it faster, more reliable, and more efficient. This would help reduce the number of private vehicles on the road and improve overall traffic flow. Key word: BUS LANE….ask the Accra Mayor to seek ideas from London Mayor.

  @Manste Nortey. The Accra Metropolitan Assembly is the most hopeless institution/office in the whole of Ghana. They are not doing a good job. Accra is still looking filthy, there are many areas with no street lights, coconut sellers everywhere (including the Independence Square!!) , the Accra arts center is an eyesore not to talk of Jamestown, etc. etc.

  In the advanced industrialized countries they have bus lanes which are reserved only for busses. It can be done in Ghana too but it requires discipline from all drivers. Let's think outside the box and do things right.
