Prof Frimpong-Boateng is a former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation
A former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Frimpong-Boateng, has stated that he will not attend any disciplinary committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), insisting that he has done nothing wrong.
Speaking in an interview on UTV on January 20, 2026, he criticised the party’s handling of recent events, saying that proper procedure was not followed.
“What have I done? I am not going to meet any disciplinary committee,” he indicated.
He referred to a recent interview he had with Channel One TV, which aired after 10 PM, noting that by 5 AM the following morning, the party’s General Secretary had issued a statement that circulated widely on social media.

Prof Frimpong-Boateng explained that under normal circumstances, a meeting is supposed to be held before a disciplinary letter is issued and questioned the timing of the party’s decision.
“Are they saying they met at 4 AM? At first, I thought it was fake until I heard him speaking,” he said.
He suggested that instead of focusing on disciplinary actions against individuals, the party should consider changing its executive leadership to strengthen its position ahead of the 2028 Election.
