Female Labone SHS student gives chilling details of how teacher forcefully kissed her

The trial of Godwin Adigbli, a 45-year-old French teacher at Labone Senior High School, has taken a dramatic turn as the second prosecution witness, who is also the victim of the alleged sexual harassment, gave a harrowing account of her experience in court.

According to a report by 3news.com, the victim, a 16-year-old female student, stated in her witness testimony admitted into evidence by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support District Court, that the incident occurred when she was asked to bring the accused teacher’s bag into his office.

The witness indicated that the teacher had been flirtatious and had previously made suggestive comments towards her.

She recounted that she did not expect any harm, but upon entering, Adigbli allegedly held her by the waist and began kissing her forcefully.

“Accused person stopped saying such words and thought it was over. I eventually got to his office, he unlocked the door, and told me to bring his bag inside. I did not expect him to do anything bad to me when I entered the office.

“He forcibly held my waist and began kissing me roughly in his office, so I hit him across his face and other parts of his body to make him let me go, but all efforts proved futile because he was stronger than me,” portions of her statement read.

Despite attempts to resist, she said he overpowered her and dragged her into a room in the French laboratory.

The witness described the room as containing a student mattress, a fridge, and a sink.

“He then dragged me into a room in the French lab where there was a student mattress and a fridge with a sink,” she recounted.

She told the court that the accused made sexual advances, including attempting to touch her inappropriately and forcing his finger into her private parts.

She further alleged that Adigbli unbuckled his belt and tried to force his penis into her mouth.

“The accused said he wanted to suck my breast; he then forcibly put his finger into my vagina. It was a very devastating experience. The accused pushed me onto the mattress in the storeroom, unbuckled his belt, brought out his penis, and tried to put it into my mouth,” she stated in her witness testimony.

In her testimony, she explained that she bit him in self-defense, which caused him pain and gave her the opportunity to escape.

She said she ran back to her classroom, shaken and in pain, but was initially afraid to report the matter because she was preparing for her final year examinations.

Later, however, she confided in another teacher, Evans, and also informed her uncle about the incident.

“I then bit his penis hard; he was in serious pain, and that was when I got the opportunity to run out. I went to my classroom in pain and was scared to report the issue because I was writing my final year exams. I was also afraid I would meet him at the exam hall, and that would torment me.

“I later went to the dormitory to use the washroom and found blood stains in my underwear. I also felt a sharp pain in my abdomen that hurt badly. I went to the teacher’s Staff Common Room, informed a teacher called Mr Evans, and also called my uncle,” she recounted.

During cross-examination of the first witness, the complainant admitted that a medical report obtained after the incident indicated the victim’s hymen was intact.

Godwin Adigbli is standing trial on charges of indecent assault but has pleaded not guilty and is on a GH¢50,000 bail.

The case has been adjourned to January 29 for continuation.

The incident is said to have occurred in August 2025, with Adigbli subsequently arrested on September 1, 2025, after it was reported to school authorities and the victim’s guardians.
