Ablakwa does not have the Legal nor Constitutional Authority to bestow Ghanaian Citizenship and by extension a passport on anyone unless such individual has gone through the right procedures as laid down by Parliament.

It means you may either acquire Ghanaian Passport through Naturalisation by meeting certain conditions either marriage, rights of residence or through a Parent. Parliament has not bestowed the power for the Foreign Minister to give anyone a Ghanaian Passport because he or she is an Internet Influencer.

If Ablakwa wants to give all Internet Influencers Ghanaian Passport he should go to Parliament and get them to pass a Legislation for him to have the authority to give influencers our Passport.

Otherwise that passport he gives to any Influence who is not a Ghanaian is null and void and can be seized at the airport if that indvidual tries to travel with it!

We should not be so cheap as a nation. IShowSpeed does not deserve a Ghana passport. Some countries demand at least 5 years stay in a country with a permanent residence permit before applying for a national passport. But here we are giving out our passport to someone who has spent only 24 hours in our country. Instead of giving him a passport, (in appreciation of him putting Ghana on the map) we could have given him a National Award (such as the Star of the Volta) either in Accra or through our Embassy in the United States. We should value our citizenship and not give it out anyhow. Ghana is not a Banana Republic.

The we send our own nurses over 120 to carribean and they likely to marry foreigners or born with them and many Ghanaians breeded exponentially everywhere. It snot a prime but cna be a problem if we are not carful with whom we give citizenship... Our own pple who struggle in Ghana can be worse off based on decisions we take on this things... Citizenship shoukd be earned with character and a good basis not by just awarding anyone

What irritated me most with IShowSpeed's visit to Ghana was how he desecrated our national monument "The Independence Arc". When I saw his behavior there I asked myself if he were to be in France, will the French authorities allow him to climb the" Arc de Triomphe" in Paris and behave the way he did here in Ghana? The answer I guess is a big No they will not allow that. Furthermore, can he do that in his own country (the United States) on any of the monuments in Washington DC? Once again I doubt it. However, here in Ghana we have rewarded him for his misbehaviors by granting him a citizenship and a Passport. This says a lot about us as a nation. We have disclosed ourselves as a nation with no law and order. The surroundings of the Independence Square and the Arc are now a market place where people are now selling Coconuts, bread, phone covers, etc. etc. The area is filthy and the gutters are choked with dirt. Furthermore, nobody takes care of the green grasses and the water fountains are not working to make the place look attractive. My question is who is responsible for maintaining and keeping the area clean? Is it the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, the Mayor of Accra, the Ministry of Tourism, or the Greater Accra Regional Minister? No wonder the state of the area surrounding the Arc and the maintenance of the Arc itself does not give the impression of a monument to respect hence the desecration of the monument by IShowSpeed.

There is too much negligence and indiscipline in the Ghanaian society. I do not think Kennedy will allow people to become Ghanaian citizen and have access to our Passport without proper verting. For a politician who decried the previous administration's practice of handing diplomatic passports to Ghana pastors, it's surprising to see Ablakwa resort to that same practice by issuing a passport to a person who is not a citizen of Ghana. You don't give out passports to foreigner merely because that foreigner mention's Ghana's name in their social media activities. That's ridiculous.

Mr. Ablakwa should also simplify the system for former Ghanaians who want to revert to Ghanaian citizens to be able to do so without this difficult bureaucracy and hardships. These are the people building the economy of Ghana.
