Questioning the “widow-to-MP” trend is valid if the focus is on party systems, merit, and voter choice. However, framing it with insinuations like “Did they kill their husbands?” is unfair, misogynistic, and deeply disrespectful. Widowhood does not erase a woman’s competence or agency, and voters are capable of making informed decisions beyond sympathy. A healthy democracy should critique political structures without stigmatizing grief or undermining women’s participation in public life.

If a man becomes an MP and neglecting his wife, the wife would give him 'daddy's salt' so the MP would die early for the wife to replace him.
