A demolition exercise was carried out at Tse-Addo, a community in the Greater Accra Region, on Monday, January 26, 2026.
The operation, led by NADMO officials and military personnel, targeted unauthorised structures encroaching on the Kpeshie Lagoon in areas such as Zion and Teshie Bush Road.
Authorities explained that the exercise was necessary to pave the way for the reconstruction of the lagoon, improve water flow, and reduce the risks of flooding.
GhanaWeb visited the affected areas to assess the aftermath.
During the visit, the team saw debris and scattered belongings were visible across the community, with several affected residents sharing their experiences.
While one resident admitted receiving prior warning, others whose homes were completely destroyed insisted they had not been informed.
An elderly woman expressed her distress, questioning how she would be able to rebuild after losing her home.
