Certainly where you live, it is Duesseldorf Airport, Frankfurt Airport, Berlin Airport etc. You many ask: are there no very important personalities there?

Apparently, they know the implications of naming such places after people: names would keep changing because most likely, every govt that comes would want to name places after past political favorites ...

But naming after the town makes it general and party-neutral.

But if he had attempted to rename after any of UP or former NPP personalities, like he attempted to rename UG after his uncle JB Dankwah, then there would have been an uproar.

To me, names of national places as airports, universities, ports, harbors etc MUST be party-neutral / tribe-neutral. With that, the name would reflect the nation and the chances of constant name changes greatly reduced.

Of course, if some private man calls his own private university 'Obetwani Kofi Wusu College', I have nothing against that.
