Subsidise petrol to make it cost less, this will drive down prices and encourage alot and alot job creation, more consumer spend for you to make your money back through taxation.
Ghanaians will have alot to money to spend.
left to save for projects.
It also strengthens the cedi against the dollar, inflation...so you don't need to artificially pump billions of dollars to create artificial strong cedi. Instead use it to subsidise petrol. Cedi will stabilise naturally.
5 yrs jail and a fine for smugglers. For benefit of Ghana and Ghanaians ONLY

Alternatively, he could dress in a "Polical Suit" (I don't know if it is still called that way) which is internationally recognized as an African attire. His appearance when inspecting the guard of honor was shabby and very unpresidential. I fully understand that Zambians felt offended.

I like the fact that President John Dramani Mahama is making strenuous efforts to promote Pan-Africanism and the African Global Agenda in contemporary times. Ghana under our current President is not just a watching spectator but an active participant in Global affairs. HE President Mahama in tandem with his Foreign Minister Samuel Ablakwa Okudjato haven't shied away in discussing issues bothering on political and socioeconomic injustices on the international stage . Even if such discerning voices in world affairs are treated as relatively marginal and intangible by Developed Countries, in effecting a meaningful impact in the international community, it is far better than just timidly recoiling back into our shelves from an African perspective. What sets General Iddi Amin Dada of Uganda apart even as a notorious Dictator, other than the likes of the Great Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara etc was their willingness to fight injustices against Africa. Ghana under President Mahama is doing very well in this regard. Okudjato was courageous in his condemnation of the unlawful invasion and seizure of the Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro and his Wife by the USA. Of late, the President have been vocal about African gaining its rightful place in the global market in fair deals in international trade, not tobe as usual controlled, exploited and cheated out of its vast natural resources. Breaking cultural barriers and promoting local services and goods within the continent like smock weaving and selling to enhance and strengthen the forex market in Africa is one key strategy to consider, to mitigate the impact of foreign fabrics like suits won by the Zambian President flooding the African Market.Nevertheless, the mocking of the beautiful smock won by the President which looks alien and strange to the Zambians is also an indication of poor trade ties and lack of free vibrant market within the African continent. It is a clear demonstration of failures of Regional and Continental Treaties intended to promote collaboration and cooperation in political and economic affairs including free market for trade in good and services. Hopefully petit and pragmatic actions such as dressing in a traditional African fabric like the Fugu as done by HE JDM will help achieve the vision of our Fore-bearers, a United Africa, through cross-cultural and trade exchanges.

Those East and Central Africans are so backward in their thinking and behaviours. They also look scared and confused whenever they meet West Africans who are more enlightened, more confident and more educated than they are. Period!

John Mahama outfit was incredible, gorgeous and befitting as the first gentleman of the Republic. Ghana is known to be the main hub for kente (both northern and southern kente) and he is proudly promoting our cultural outfit to the world. The Zambians can start patronising it. The Batakari is comfortable and easy to wear and especially good for cold days if you don't want to put on a jacket or coat. It is mostly worn on important occasions and for that matter official occasions.

Ladies and gentlemen it seems most of us don't understand the meaning of leadership and the basic agenda a leader May want to communicate. It is not every single thing that must be communicated through words but there are tools for communication beyond just words and the President himself is a communicator and he is using his communication tools appropriately. I would rather salute his managers for his perfect communication tools. Ladies and gentlemen, I am not a government appointee I am only trying to read meaningful messages from the President's leadership. The President is actually highlighting his position and agenda for Africa unity beyond words he is working the talk in his choice of clothing if you like fashion sense. Permit me to remind all of us that the President is the elected chairman of Africa union, he is the chairman and campaigner for Africa Repatriation, he is the President of Ghana with a Reset Agenda for which there is a special Reset called The Accra Reset Agenda. Honestly ladies and gentlemen the President is doing extraordinarily fantastic work and in his quest for promoting Africa he is equally promoting Ghana which means we will get more investors to Ghana before other countries so in view of this it is rather counter productive if we persistently frustrates his efforts with negative energy and vibes it is wrong. If our forefathers allowed Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to work peacefully without distractions Ghana would have been as beautiful as New York City and that means Ghana would have been the capital of Africa unity. I think we are still the capital of Africa unity because we started the message of unity in a well organize manner. You and I must correct the wrongs of our fathers who were negative instead provide positive support to our President John Dramani Mahama especially now that he is performing very well. Please our country Ghana has gone through too much negatives in the previous government but for the NDC government there is so much improvement for the majority of the population. President John Dramani Mahama is the current president who is working hard enough to make us proud locally and internationally in all sincerity he needs our support at all levels. If he succeeds then we have all succeeded because success comes with good name, growth and development and we will be happy to achieve that together as one people. I leave you with peace.

2. Campaigner and Advocate for Repatriation and this campaign is not taken lightly the President has given it the best attention that advocacy deserves by appointing a Presidential envoy and he appointed Dr. Spio Gabrah
3. The Repatriation for Africa the President is also in charged of that too since he is the chairman of AU

The President has been championing the value addition to raw materials where cotton is plentiful in Ghana and this cotton is used to make the smock if you fugu he wore as a Way of communicating his leadership of motivation and inspiration to colleagues Africa leaders to champion fabrics in their various countries and also intra trade within Africa what we produce as a people with common destiny. The President showed the fabric made in Ghana to Zambia and if they don't know that it is a smock if you like fugu then they will begin to learn things from Ghana and by extension President John Dramani mahama advertising the smock without paying for advertisement.
5. The President development agenda is not limited to Ghana alone but the whole of Africa
6. The President said we don't need aid but instead business partnership
7. President said yes if you agree the business partnership with Africa it must be fair business partnership
8. The President also said raw materials from Africa should not leave at it's raw State but must be transformed to finish products before export and consumption.

For your information, John Mahama (JM) was only endorsed by ECOWAS as the region's exclusive candidate for the AU Chairmanship in 2027. This is captured in ECOWAS recommendation C/REC.1/12/25. Even then at the AU level, Presidential candidates must secure approval from two-thirds of the member states before one could be elected Chairperson. The formal decision to appoint JM to the named post has not yet been taken at the Assembly of Heads of State of the AU. It is therefore misleading to claim that JM is AU Chairman. Furthermore, you said he is a campaigner and advocate for repatriation for Africa. As much as I salute him for spearheading this initiative, honestly, I cannot see how this will workout. Who will be the recipient of the funds? Which African country/countries should receive the funds?At the time of slavery there were no African states. Yes, slaves (captives) were transported through what is now Ghana and probably some were taken from there too but we cannot prove with certainty that X number of slaves were from Ghana. Neither, can we identify families whose love ones were captured and enslaved to receive financial compensation from the fund. I see this whole exercise as a wishful thought which could be difficult to materialize from a legal point of view. But let's hope for the best. You also mentioned that the President's development agenda is not limited to Ghana alone but the whole of Africa. I wish he could concentrate on Ghana because there is so much to do in our country. For example, our health care sector is nothing to write home about. I heard there are hospitals which are now charging patients for using toilets in the hospitals premises (because they have outsourced the maintenence of the toilets to private entities). Just think of that? Our roads and sanitation are still very poor. Many street lights in our national capital are not functioning (go to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and see how beautiful it looks at night). Sixty-nine years after independence there are still many children in Ghana who go to school under a tree, huge housing deficits across the country, and the crime rate is on the rise etc. etc . I am fully aware that the NDC has been in power for only one year and cannot be blamed for the shortfalls. However, it is Mahama's responsibility to fix the mess at home instead of aiming at fixing the whole of Africa. I understand that we need to trade with others on the continent for our prosperity but "charity begins at home". Let's put Ghana first !!!
