Mass spraying is fading out. Mass pollination initiative is completely gone. The input of Cocoa extension officers, seed production units, Cocoa Research Institutes across the country are not functioning. I remember Tony Blair visited the CRIG Station at Tafo, what does this tell us. Did the Transition team at the Cocobod do diligent work at the cocoa house during the handing over. Did the ÇEO go over the notes. Why should government
go for cocoa syndicated loans and make cocobod become the funding agency, contracting entity, supervisor, inspector of cocoa roads shifting resources and giving priority to road construction activity. Government should bring back or temporarily set up plastic toll booths to collect road tolls to generate urgent revenue to pay for road maintenance. It is only in Ghana roads are toll free. Government should not wait to implement the electronic toll system. Between now and end of 1st and 2nd Qtr of 2026 enough money can be generated to pay Contractors whose monies have been locked up since 2017. There should be no hawking within 300m of any toll station. Stealing and pilfering of tolls collected must not be condoned. Government machinery must be used to ensure all Bridge and Road Toll stations are secured as security zones. The disabled could be employed with the Ghana Highway Authority mandated to charge and collect the tolls on all trunk roads. Our neighbours are charging tolls why not Ghana. Our nation should not be weak. We are losing money for each passing day that road and bridge tolls are not collected yet our roads are deteriorating by the day. Ghana must wake up.
