should only be released when there is iron cast evidence that the transit goods have reached their destination. The likelihood of transit goods entering into home consumption without duty payment and the transit documents declaring them as exported is possible. This is where the authorities have to be extra vigilant. False documents can be used to delare that a consignment of transit goods have genuinely been exported overland. The clearing agents ,custons officers,GPHA workers are all involved in huge revenue leakages at the Tema port.
