The facial recognition aspect of the system in Ghana could not flag that the system has issued 2 separate and unique ID cards to Rev. Kusi Boateng, the face of Akufo-Addo's cathedral-turned-swimming-pool venture. How then could the system know which vehicles are passing through its gates or driver of each vehicle?

Perhaps you are going to be using the Dr. Bawumia e-gate system he launched at the airport that not only failed but embarrassed the heck out of him and his army of buffoons who were with him. Systems are never going to be intelligent than the humans that designed, built and operate them.

I read this story with outrage as a former Customs officer. Who speaks for the vilified Customs Officer? Can the officials of MoF/GRA answer the following questions to the public?
1. Where is the origin of this transit consignment(Lome or Akana)
2. When the consignment got to Akanu, what actions did Ghana Customs undertake in relation to the examination and assessment of the consignment as required by law? Were they done?
3. How did MoF/GRA arrive at the customs value of the goods 83/85 million ghc they are quoting? How did they arrive at the figure (average of 4.7 m/truck)? What are they carrying?
4. Where tracking devices affixed on the trucks, what are the purposes of these devices?
5. How many Customs officers can Ghana Customs afford to assign as escorts on a consignment of 18 trucks? Were there escorts assigned or not
6. The transiter, did they declare a route for the transit consignment, have the consignment deviated/diverted from the declared route before the interception

MoF/ GRA should answer these questions to the Ghanaians before vilifying the Customs officer. Or it is the issue of ''giving a dog a bad name and hang it''

For those who do not know, the Transit trade is an international trade regime that is covered by a convention adopted by the WTO and WCO. All member states are guided by this convention. The Trade Facilitation Agreement has come into force to reinforce and simplify this practice. We ought to understand them and not act on impulse, else we shall be embarrassed in the courts, like GRA keep loosing almost all cases against them in the courts

the transit process is intentionally recognized, and if there wasn't any deviation, the public should not conclude that there was collusion.

I am sincerely grateful that I had a blessed leader like the late Jerry John Rawlings. PAPA Rawlings, I miss you so much! Why is the government not prosecuting looters to date? And a week to resolve a tax matter? How long does it take the government to conclude the simple NSA issue, the Galamsay issue involving the NPP Regional Chairman and the imposition of clearly legal taxes on illegal mining (Galamsay) by current government officials in some communities? Say a big NO to NPP and NDC in 2028 to fight CORRUPTION! Ghana deserves better! A country of about 30 million people, blessed with natural resources such as gold, cocoa and petroleum is still dependent on foreign aid. These two political parties take loans from everywhere in our name and indirectly divide them among themselves by also channeling these funds into projects that are never or only partially realized. These are not my words but those of the NDC and NPP as they accuse each other of corruption on a daily basis.
