Where did the difference go? They should be paid their fair share now as they've contributed much moreto the economy than most of us but we've siphoned their share of resources to the cities.

So when he was overthrown, the Russians working on the Bui dam, the Atomic Energy at Kwabenya and the Tarkwa gold refinery were sacked. Please Nkrumah dealt with all countries for Ghana. Please those who called him Communist when he went to Eastern Europe and China for assistance for Ghana, were inward looking, primitive uncivilized and heartless . KNUST was called Kumasi College of Science and Technology before independence. Please don't twist facts. Yes Nkrumah established Ghana Educational Trust (GET)secondary schools through out the country as well as factories most of which collapsed even before he was overthrown for lack of raw material. At the time he was overthrown, there was serious shortages of basic items needed to make life reasonably comfortable that was why people jubilated when he was overthrown. Nkrumah himself admitted this shortages and said from Conakry in Guinea that if Ghanaians wanted essential commodities, he would not have built schools and factories. He had good intentions for the country but faltered in many areas and that did not sit well with many Ghanaians

Dr Kwame Nkrumah also did so much for the north as well interms of education:
Ghana College, Tamale, Government secondary school, Tamale, Bawku, Yendi, Lawra, Wa, Nalerigu Damongo secondary schools etc.. You are right Kwame Nkrumah was a visionary leader. He did all this in less than 9years.
What a big loss he has been to the nation!!! His compulsory policy of education for all children gave some of us especially from the north the opportunity to go to school. Otherwise my father had no clue about education and didn’t see the need for his children to go to school.

Don't forget Acherensua Secondary School (Achisco) which was the only secondary school in Ahafo until 1970 when Busia converted Hwidiem and Mim Training Colleges to secondary schools. And other schools like Yaa Asantewaah Secondary School, Konongo Odumasi Secondary School, and many more. You can easily identify the schools by the similar buildings, which were constructed under the Education Trust Fund. Nkrumah was selfless, and a visioner. Don't forget Acherensua Secondary School (Achisco) which was the only secondary school in Ahafo until 1970 when Busia converted Hwidiem and Mim Training Colleges to secondary schools. You can easily identify the schools by the similar buildings, which were constructed under the Education Trust Fund. Nkrumah was selfless, and a visioner. For decades, our main international gateway bore the name of a military figure associated with the 1966 overthrow of our first President, Kwame Nkrumah. Yet Ghana today stands firmly as a democratic state—one that believes in the sovereignty of the people, the supremacy of the Constitution, and the peaceful transfer of power.
