Who told you Western Countries don't have expedited passport services? They even do for birth certs. Ask those in the USA and Canada.

I support this move because some of the staff there were very corrupt. I remember visiting the Kumasi branch a few years ago and there was this guy who perhaps was a first line manager acting very rudely and disrespectful. From his looks he is Ga or has been sent there from Accra because he spoke the language as well. He sits a bit to your right after to enter, his ego and attitude was very provocative, to avoid unnecessary I just ignored him and went ahead to process my application, if not I would have proved to him i was more stubborn than he was. At the end he was a usual collecting bribes from applicants!. Same with the lady who processed my application, she was corrupt as well, she behaved holy but was full of sh.t! Like I said, sometimes you have to disregard some acts in order to save your precious time. At the end whatever I paid were peanuts to me and all I wanted was to get what i wanted and get the hell outta of there. I am someone who appreciates services with tips but the entitlement they display and fake flex they do is annoying. As if we are in Kumasi to the bush people so lets flex, meanwhile you are a bribe taker.

One guy at Sunyani passport office tried to be rude to me. I told him to shut up and concentrate on his job and he should not think that he is richer or more educated than me. I try to blend in not to create suspicions. I have most of my education in the UK. When I was putting him at his place, other service users due to fear or whatever reason, signalled me not to talk back to the man. That even gingered me and ask them if it has gotten to the point that a grown man cannot talk back to another grown man because of a uniform? I just told that fool that if he wants to trend, he should continue fooling around.

I agree and support you fully. In some cases, time is the enemy as i had just a couple of days left to return back to the States and did not want to delay the application. Besides I had to do some rounds to other towns and did not have the luxury of wasting even a day. Point is, this so-called premium services serves no meaningful purpose except to milk you more right from the security guard and to all other levels. These staff are on contract from VFS.
