The very idea that someone can “own” a community reveals a fundamentally flawed and authoritarian mindset. Communities are built on shared identity, mutual responsibility, and consent; they are not private estates to be claimed or controlled.

When a person forces themselves into a position of power and then behaves as though authority grants them proprietary rights over people, it exposes a dangerous confusion between governance and domination. Leadership is a mandate of service, not a title of entitlement. Power, when acquired through coercion or self-proclamation, does not transform into legitimacy simply by being declared.

Such thinking reflects a primitive conception of authority — one rooted in ego, insecurity, and the desire for control rather than in accountability, stewardship, or democratic legitimacy. History repeatedly demonstrates that individuals who equate rulership with ownership undermine the very fabric of the communities they claim to lead. Instead of fostering cohesion, they cultivate resentment, division, and resistance.

A community cannot be owned. It can only be served, represented, and strengthened through trust. Any mentality that suggests otherwise reveals not strength, but a profound misunderstanding of what leadership.
