Mr. Kokofu is introducing new jargon to help this effort. Unfortunately, he does not support this with any explanation. The fact is that at 14 cedis to the dollar in 2024, that is a 140% devaluation from the initial 1:1 under Kufuor. Today’s 11:1 is still 110% devaluation. To call such an improvement ‘over valuation’ is not only wrong but sad.

Generally, a General Secretary of a Political Party, must be a smooth and a convincing presenter even if indulging in some form of prevarication.

Can Mr. Kwabena Kokofu explain why he did not have doubts or fear of potential hyperinflation crisis in Ghana when the Kufour government undertook redenomination of Ghana's currency where the exchange ratio of the cedi to dollar was 1:1? And if Mr. Kokofu did not have fears about the redenomination exercise then he should list anything that backed the exchange value of the cedi at the time.

From where I sit, I believe Mr. Kwabena Kokofu is not driven by principles, empirical data but tribalism, politics and unadulterated jealousy. Hon Kokofu should take time to read the history of the NPP and if per chance he has any belief of sorts, meditate and consult with our creator to help him understand why the most hated Ghanaian political figure by the NPP, Kwame Nkrumah, continues to shine globally while all NPP heroes (from forefathers of the the UP era) are only locally known and celebrated in Ghana by party zealots and dimwits?

The Christian God, Muslim Allah and all the Gods people worship continue to hold down markers for mankind that people of the NPP stripes fail to accept even while NPP failures continue to pile on. HE John Mahama, like him, hate him or indifferent, continues to follow the foresight, wisdom and lessons from Nkrumah's 50-year development plan that will safeguard the strength of the cedi; the NPP or Mr. Kokofu can engage in wishful thinking until hell freezes over.
