Some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express outrage over what they describe as a deliberate mass failure in the aptitude test conducted by the centralized recruitment service under the Ministry of Interior.

According to many of these applicants, a large number of candidates who sat for the online test, comprising the police service, immigration service, prisons service, and the fire service failed.

Some have alleged that the system is fraudulent, pointing out that the automated exam results took more than two weeks to be released.

Instead of seeing their raw scores, candidates only received messages stating, “You failed to score the required pass mark. Better luck next time.”

Some of the disappointed applicants have flooded social media with screenshots and messages expressing their frustration at the outcome.

One aggrieved applicant lamented, “Masa, let us speak the truth. Honourable Muntaka has disappointed us. As a driver who applied for the service, how can you tell me I didn’t pass an aptitude test? I should have been tested with a car, not an aptitude test.”

Another warned, “Muntaka, if you don’t put things in place, the youth will vote against the NDC. Sit up. The IGP and the services are not happy with you.”

Others criticised the lack of transparency in the system.

Afenyo-Markin kicks against AI-based security services recruitment aptitude tests

“An online aptitude test that doesn’t update you immediately with your scores and a full summary of your test is a scam. Period!” one other person said.

Another frustrated applicant added, “Honestly, Ghana can be frustrating. Imagine writing an aptitude test under unnecessary stress, only to fail. If we had taken the same exam in person, many would have performed better. This AI-based platform causes panic and pressure. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or something else.”

Some even demanded refunds; “Muntaka, don't let me talk plenty, just give me my money.”

Meanwhile, the Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has also voiced concerns.

He argued that the military’s system of conducting aptitude tests directly was more effective and suggested that the current system be revised to allow manual testing, especially for applicants from rural communities who struggle with ICT.

“I am for AI and IT, but you cannot suddenly call someone from Pusiga or Bunkurugu who knows nothing about IT and ask them to write an aptitude test using AI. If they don’t have the means, they fail,” he said.

Afenyo-Markin stressed that the issue should not be politicised, describing it as a systemic challenge that requires urgent attention from the Ministry of Interior.

He noted that many applicants spent significant amounts of monies at internet cafés to complete the tests, only to face technical difficulties that prevent them from progressing.

“I think it is a serious system challenge that the ministry must look at properly, because it is we, the MPs, who are carrying the burden,” he added.

@kwajosmart.gh Many of us have seen ‘disqualified’ on the portal. But remember, man’s verdict is not God’s final word. Joseph was rejected, yet lifted to the palace. David was overlooked, yet chosen as king. Disqualification today is not the end — it is the setup for your testimony tomorrow. Hold your head high, your breakthrough is still secured." #TestimonyLoading #BreakthroughPending #EncouragementForAll #DivineQualification #GodsPlanNotMan ♬ original sound - KWAJO SMART
