Back in the day i almost unlawfully went to jail under similar circumstance on false charges over a disputed property we still own today. When I reported to the Police station they wanted to lock me up but the sgt. Knew my dad and about our property. That saved me. The person who filed the charges was a lawyer but never persued the case in court.

I am not sure why top politicians behave so badly breaking the laws of the country but when they are caught, they blame law enforcement agencies for arresting them. There needs to be some sanity in our systems.

@Kwaku and legal. The joke is on you. I thought I missed something, so, I went over the story again. A Supposed land owner filed a complaint that a structure on "his" land had been demolished. He subsequently found people working on 'his' land (which suggests that someone else is laying claim to that land, therefore we have a land despute). After further investigation it was evenrually revealed that Freddy Blay sent them. They first attenpted to arrest blay in Accra but was unsucessful. They eventually caught up with him and effected the arrest. It does not take a genious to figure out that two people are fighting over the land. The fact that one person first called the Police does not automatically make him the legitimate owner.. The court has to decide that. What if they lock up Blay, then he turn out to be the rightful landowner, which will make his initial arrest unlawful.

In my case we had had the land in my family since late 1940s, threfore very sure of the papers. Someone showed up in the late 90s to erect a structure on a portion of the land. We demolished it. He reported to the Police. The Police considered locking me up but reversed their decision..This person eventually left without persuing it through the court. The only reason why he called the Police was to intimidate us. It COULD BE the same in Blay's case.
