It is senseless to continuously pay common fund to MMDA's like the Accra metro, Tema metro, Kumasi metro, Takoradi metro, Tamale metro, Asokwa municipal and a few more of them. Also, allow Nurses, Doctors and Teachers to also look for their jobs when they leave school. Those sectors/industry are equally huge with both public and private dominance. Their recruitment shouldn't be tired in the hands of government. Common sense should tell you this.Go to the public hospitals and you will realize that, all the Nurses and Doctors recruited to work by government have all run to work at the private hospitals. If I were the minister of health or the president, I will come out with a policy, any doctor who establishes his/her own health facility should be taken out of the government payroll. Such a Doctor should concentrate on his/her facility. Go to the Tamale teaching hospital, block D, and for the entire two(2) days, no doctor appeared in the wards to check on their patients; they left for their private hospitals leaving the patients in the hands of only the nurses to suffer. Judgement awaits most of these health workers!

I agree very much with you about Medical Doctors not coming to work but attend to their patients at their Private Clinics.
I very much remember that at a time in Koforidua, such Medical Doctors at Government hospitals had Private Clinics. When sick and desperate Patients get to the Central Government Hospital which was usually the destination of many Patients, the nurses who were in league with such Doctors immediately refer such Patients to the Private Clinics of the Doctors. The Doctors refer them to Private Medical Labs which are sometimes for the Doctors or their friends. At the end of the day, these poor Patients are just made to drown in so much Medical Bills which they struggle to pay. That is sheer stealing and abuse? Can we have a kind of law which would not allow Patients who report for treatment at Government Hospitals should not be referred to any Private Clinics? There are more qualified Doctors and Nurses at the Government Hospitals than the Private ones.
It may surprise many Ghanaians that when Patients are referred to Private Medical Labs and their specimen are taken, they are hurriedly sent to the Government Hospital Labs for the examination but are charged heavily by the Private Medical Labs. Then we get up and we talk and complain about corruption in Ghana. It looks like all facets of Ghana are embroiled in various kinds of corruption.
It will be appropriate if people who report sick at Government hospitals are not allowed to be referred to Private Clinics. There are more qualified Doctors in the Government Hospitals than the Privately owned ones. There is too much corruption going on everywhere in Ghana and John Mahama’s Government should try to do his best to stop them.
