We better deal with this now before the future generations suffer worse situations. The state has laws. No one is above the law. When some people begins to face the law they will comply. We own homes too. I have seen someone lose his house to a natural disaster before and now renting. Anything can happen. Let's build our society together.

Young graduates and unemployed are those who suffer the most. Where can they get 1 year to rent a house. For me, monthly for young people, 3 months for young couples and 6 months for families.

It is not how this kind of business works. Pricing though is determined by the forces of demand and supply, but the period of rent is determined by law. How much do we spend on building a house in Ghana? The amount spent is never comparable to how much is spent in building same in the west. Never.

We need to build a society to benefit all of us and generations unborn. Besides, even though the land is bought by individuals, it still takes the state to protect it and the state can act to take back the lands. There are many lands that do not have proper documentations. The state is very much aware yet it believes it has to let its people be. Go to Cote D'Ivoire. Private men build homes yet they obey the laws. Why not Ghana?

Why doesn't he bcos of workers, the Assemblies should cease collecting property rate? What at all do the Assemblies do for the property owners? No drainage, no roads let alone streetlights yet they chase property owners for huge property rates. Is the President at loggerheads with property owners like how he dislikes cocoa farmers? If he cannot provide for public workers, he shouldn't blame it on property owners. He should force his brother to reduce cement prices but not property owners. Are we under price control system? NDC government, pls allow the market dynamics set prices and stop enforcing prices on stakeholders. It won't help anybody. Landlords can decide not to rent out their properties and there is nothing he can do to them.

Wise tenants will not do, Mr. President. Many are renting because of the high cost of constructions (materials and labour). It takes a landlord several years to repay loans at very high interest rates from state and private financial institutions. Others who save to put up their houses become bankrupt, unable to transact their businesses. The house becomes his only sole source of means to let out to go back to his business. Taking 6 months rent won't help him or her in any way to go back to his business hence the one to two years rent advance in many instances, and wise tenents very much understand this. May be you can establish a housing fund for workers and the general public with little or no interest and houses built out of this may adhere to your directive.

Cannot arrest Galamsayers but can arrest somebody who has travelled through thick and thin. Through the deserts, humiliation, the terrible snow and cold, bought building materials at high prices, artisan stubbornness, land guards, bought land from multiple sales, humiliations from government institutions like municipal assemblies, fire service, environmental agency, application for ECG by buying poles and transformers , application for Ghana water which is like bashing the teeth of a crocodile, same as getting your land certificate at lands commission and counts on and on. Brought their hard earnings home to invest because they chose to help a country rather than sitting out there to chop big with it. Surcrifices and this is the thank you a president delivers? Somebody tell him that we are all Ghanaians and position belongs to all and we should be careful the way we approach things. Some of these tenants want to reap where they did not sow, some are lazy to work, some have made multiple children and expect who to suffer for them. Absolute nonsense.
