Pratt, l understand that the Europeans were actively involved in this Slave Trade but the Billion Dollar question that is usually not answered and highlighted is who sold the Slaves to who? Pratt, l know that you are a Ghanaian and know about the Forts and Castles that are dotted along the coast of Ghana. Pratt, I know you schooled in Ghana and used Adu Boahen, F.K Buah, Ajaye and Crowder’s books on the History of Ghana and West Africa. Why don’t you bring to light that it were the West Africans who fought against each other, captured defeated tribes, carried them to the Coastal Areas and sold them to waiting European Slave Traders. In your study of African History and stories told you by your Grandparents and at Cultural Centers, where in West Africa can it be said and confirmed that Europeans went inland, fought with the indigenous people, defeated them and carried them to the Castles and Forts to be sold and carried across the Atlantic Ocean and spend the rest of their lives as Slaves in Plantation Farms and Quarries etc? Pratt, have you not heard about the Trans Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Slave Trade that existed centuries before the first Europeans arrived in Africa. Why didn’t you start from there? In as much as I agree that the sale of millions of innocent Africans into slavery in the Americas was evil and inhuman, I can say that trade in Humans was a legitimate business then. The Arabs were seriously involved in the Trade in Humans to India and other places in the Far East. Pratt, have you ever asked yourself and ask about how Black people got into India? Yes, we have Black Indians. As an African, I find it shameful and disgraceful to explain to my students how Africans were involved and sold their own people into Slavery. A serv has more freedom than a slave that is the reason why the Russian writer Gogol denounced his "Dead Souls', which is about how serv owners duped the Russian empire by inflating the number of servs they allocated to the empire for construction and railway works.
Georgians, Arzebiajanians, Turkmenians, Tajikistanis, Uzbekians and others were not servs in the Russian empire.
