An aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Asante Mampong Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Beatrice Nana Yaa Owarewa Siaw, has narrated how a disagreement over the age of the sitting Member of Parliament, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, led him to block her telephone number on his phone.

Speaking in an interview with Red Diamond GH on March 24, 2026, which has since circulated on social media, Beatrice Siaw explained that she was asked about the MP’s age during the interview and responded that she believed he was 70 years old.

“Unfortunately, we are not enemies but he has blocked my number. I think the last time I did an interview, they asked me how old Honourable Ampratwum is and I said I believe he is 70,” she stated.

According to her, the MP later called her to clarify that he was not 70 but rather 68 years old.

Beatrice recounted that she argued with him, saying the difference between 68 and 70 years is only two years.

She added that her comment angered the MP, leading him to hang up the call and block her number.

“…And then he called me on the phone to tell me he is 68 years and not 70 years. I said 68 years and 70 years, the difference is just two years, what’s the difference? Then he cut the call and blocked me,” she added.
