  Why can't parliament pass some statutes to make illegal mining a felony? Humans cannot live where there are no rivers etc, and Ghana, being lucky to have some big rivers, we are destroying such natural gift with unrelenting galamsey. Who will drink melted gold than water so, what sense does it make to destroy rivers looking for gold?
  
  If our MPs understand their row as "Lawmakers", they should come together and pass some stringent laws to make illegal mining a "FELONY" henceforth.

He also presided over the explosion in mining licenses to family, friends and party members. He was effectively the godfather of galamsey. A truly dark and regrettable chapter in Ghana history.
