Nearly 70 years of independence school children are lying on their bellies, sitting on kitchen stools, concrete blocks etc and you are US chasing slave trade reparations whereas the cost of the trip alone can provide furniture and stuff for some school children. Total waste. Are the descendants of the slaves we are talking about glad that this thing is going on? If you bring a bird from the bush and it gets the least opportunity, it returns to the bush. Are they READY to return to Africa? Were the slaves not sold by Africans themselves. Are Africans, particularly Ghanaians, not pay thousands of dollars to be enslaved in other lands? With millions of Africans paying their ways into countries where descendants of slaves live, are they not counting themselves lucky that to have been born by slaves? Is Ablakwa himself not going from country to country asking their leaders to enslave us in another form? Is that not a form of slave trade. I can't understand why our foreign minister would beg a CARRIBBEAN country to take in Ghanaians.
We don't need any reparations, what we need is to stop indiscipline, looting of state assets, insincerity and build a better Ghana to entice Africans in the diaspora to return. Sadly and truly, if African countries are given trillions of dollars, one dollar would not come to Africa to benefit Africans.
