The sad truth is that the THINKING and REASONING BOTTLE of TOO MANY of today's generation of Ghanaians including YOU(NPP SENIOR CITIZEN) is broken.
TOO MANY of today's generation of Ghanaians quickly and hastely voice out anything that crop up in their mind without first personally discussing it in their mind.
It very clear that either Mr NPP SENIOR CITIZEN did not carefully read the story or he has a challenge in understanding the English language.
Because if Mr NPP SENIOR CITIZEN were to have done so and first think a little bit about his comment in his mind, this comment wouldn't have come out of his mouth.
My prayer for this generation, including Mr NPP SENIOR CITIZEN is that, "God have mercy on you, and may sense fall on you so that you will be able to maturely, directly, accurately and wisely speak to every issue".

Yes, the widow needs to be prayed for, but the way the family of the late husband went about it has created a lot of questions and misunderstandings which they(the family) have to continue to explain.

If she has no kids, the first son between her and the brother is named after the husband that died. This is how we remember our dead.
Read the old testament. This is what Moses instructed the Jews to do as well. Jesus agreed with this Matthew 22:24-34.
It is only the woman who can asked to end the marriage, not the family of the late husband.

Like you rightly said, it is the woman who decides. In our customary law, marriage is within families, not individuals, so death doesn’t end marriage.

The widow is young and pretty. She should focus on building a career or vocation if she doesn't already have one and thereby establish her financial independence. As others have noted she should be extremely careful not to get snared by the many wolves out there who simply want a good time with a mistress. She should be particularly careful of those showing up as "an angel of light" offering "help" or cash but who may have a hidden agenda.
THERE IS ONE FRIEND WHO WILL NOT FAIL US, JESUS CHRIST THE MESSIAH AND SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD.
At a time like this the God of heaven is totally dependable. Trust in Him alone. He is our provider, comforter and helper.
May the Lord grant this widow the spirit of discernment, the gift of wisdom and knowledge in her dealings with family, friends and strangers.

The meer saying that she's still our daughter, we live in the same place/house with her is sarcasm in a sympathetic way. This might come a bit too harsh for others and uncomfortable for the young widow but this is how the family has planned to get rid of her and most probably allow her see other suitors.

The good thing is she's young with no children so surely a hotcake for men who are looking for a lady of her status.

They can't unilaterally dissolve the marriage that was entered into between the wife and the husband and not with the family. The widow is entitled to any benefits from the pilot's death and should seek legal remedies from this outmoded tradition of the greedy and conniving family dissolving the maariage.
