This entails the ability to sniff, prevent and neutralise and danger to OUR president.

There is a reason why NOT just anyone is chosen as an ADC. Trusted person who can put his life on the line for the president. Use his own initiative to GUARD and GUIDE the president.

Not been a soldier or police before but did close protection work while a student in London. Our company had contracts to protect very rich people (Millionaires & Billionaires) and in those days, i was a gym rat so had this whole 6ft 5inch structure built.

Sometimes we work closely with elite police guarding people in high governmental positions. They will never take such orders from these top ranking officials. Most times, they will politely reject their orders if the officials insist.

Note that an ADC can even prevent the President from taking a drink. It is either the ADC makes the one who offered to drink first before allowing the president to partake.

In this very scenario, imagine someone springs out from the crowd and attack the president.

If the Soldier had not been at his assigned duty at the time and the President had been attacked, harmed, or killed, the Soldier would not have been spared. If the President felt that he was safe going to, and entering a Christian Place of Worship, he should not have accepted the company of a Military Officer.
Anyway, if I may ask? Is it not the Police who give or keep the immediate protection of the President? The President was wrong. If his would be attackers knew that he had no Official Military or Police protection, that would have been an excellent time to harm and kill him. The Security Apparatus of the Government should warn him not to do that again. The presence of the Soldier Man was even enough deterrent to would be Attackers.

No leader before Rawlings had a soldier standing behind him at all times. Nkrumah never did. Busia never did. Acheampong never did. Limann never did.

The last time I saw, it was one useless former npp deputy minister of finance yelling at uniformed commissioned officers at a committee sitting. This is a fool who deputized for a thief of a finance minister currently in detention. I will once again repeat that, a minister of defence should always be a retired 2 star general or above, and also the CDS should be classified by the constitution as the 5th person after the VP, Speaker and CJ, to be in charge of the country. I feel like fainting whenever I see the CDS following even brogya gyamfi. Herrr. Could this have happened during the NLC , NRC /SMC, AFRC /PNDC era, whereby you'll see senior officers, service commanders, not to talk of the CDS himself, following a forking civilian around? Aaaaah. Democracy has really made forking civilians gain some clout. Tweeeeakai. Well, I blame the soldiers to some extent.
