The ADC is a security officer who is paid to do the jobs and he doesn't complain for doing it. So, I agree it was unnecessary to breach protocol. The president can say he has the right to determine when to be guarded by the ADC and when not, but the cost of any unfortunate incident arising from such security breaches will be on the country. So, logically he should act as a stateman and not his personal capacity as John Dramani.

Security details that protect Presidents, Head of States and other dignitaries are by design always plain cloth personnel.
