Six to nine months for me is too long a time for only the bridge rehabilitation considering how important that bridge is.
What alternative will the public use?
Sensible question atleast build a traffic light next to it before rehabilitating it

What a country? A whole 6 months? When in places like China this could be done within 24 hours....black man is indeed far behind.....
In the USA, every built structure, especially a structure for the public use are maintained regularly. That's why you hardly see pot holes. In Ghana they don't have pot holes, they have ditches on the roads. Terrible !
Regular maintenance is needed for every public structure. Sit in a trotro and I bet you will come out injured from an exposing metal. Nobody follows up on anything, everything is dilapidated.
After the repairs the traders will go back and damage it again, and they won't be stopped because the government won't want to lose votes in the 2028 elections. This is where we are as a nation.
Wait, those structures are built to be used. The government should maintain what they build. It's not the people's fault, it's the government fault.

Maintenance should have been a routine service every 5 years for any structures for public use.
