The headmaster of MrBeast’s newly built Mante D/A Basic School at Akim Mante in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region has alleged that the Ghana Education Service (GES) has reduced his rank without any valid reason.

In an interview with OSY TV, aired on April 4, 2026, the headmaster, identified as Asare Richard, indicated that the GES reduced his rank immediately after American YouTube creator MrBeast launched the school project, a project he said he oversaw and was actively involved in at the forefront.

Asare Richard explained that he received a notification indicating that his rank had been downgraded from Assistant Director II to Principal Superintendent, with the change reportedly taking effect from September 2025.

He also noted that this was accompanied by a reduction in his salary shortly after the project began.

The headmaster said he does not understand the reason behind the decision by the GES, stressing that he has not engaged in any misconduct or wrongdoing that would justify such an action.

He added that he has written several letters seeking clarification but has yet to receive any response.

“Immediately this project started, GES gave me a notification that my rank had been reduced and also reduced my salary without any valid reason. I don’t know the reason they did that because I have not made any connection or anything.

“My rank was Assistant Director II, and I was brought down to Principal Superintendent. Since September, all letters that I am supposed to write I’ve done my part, but still…” the headmaster alleged.

Meanwhile, MrBeast, known in real life as Jimmy Donaldson, has been carrying out philanthropic projects across the world, including the construction of schools in Ghana.

As part of his initiative, two schools have reportedly been built in Ghana.

In the case of the Mante D/A Basic School, MrBeast and his team demolished an old building block that had been deemed unsafe for use.

The school was then rebuilt and fully equipped with modern learning facilities. In addition, a borehole was constructed to provide water not only for the school but also for the surrounding community in the Eastern Region.
