Could we have expected any other company to win the bid while Mahama is in power? This is just a correction of the mistake Mahama made with the Nyinahin bauxite theft. That one didn't follow the required legal and administrative procedures, including Parliament's approval.

It was done in a haste. John Mahama never thought he would lose the Election 2016. So he hurriedly assigned the Nyinahin bauxite to his brother immediately after the unfavourable electoral results were announced and before the swearing-in of the incoming President Nana Akuffo Addo. That's why NPP won the case against him at the Supreme Court and was asked to return it to the Nation.

This time round, he has started it early to ensure that all requirements are met and also allow ample time to close his tracks so that nobody can successfully challenge it in court. He has learnt his lesson and acting from experience.

Mark my words E&P will end up not paying for power used on the mine as long as Govt Official One is the president and NDC is in charge. My advice to any new mining company coming up is to stay away from E&P if you want to to survive in Ghana because Ibrahim Mahama will try to take over your company if you let down your guard. Before I would be convinced that he's a mining mogul just as he's been portrayed he should go get a virgin concession and develop it into a large scale mine rather than grabbing what others have built on because he's politically connected.
