Is it not the case that the AG is the prosecutor and defence counsel for the nation or do you argue that it should not be so? Do you, Prof Prempeh, argue that the OSP is independent and separate from the AG and does not derive its authority from the AG office?

May I remind you, Prof Prempeh, that you sat on the panel or committee tasked with the review and points of constitutional amendment precisely because writing of laws is not full proof and subject to improvement to deal with issues missed or not anticipated during the writing of laws or specific, in this case, to the OSP statute.

Your logic by extention implies that our laws are being applied unfairly because it is the fact that our laws does not allow people to represent themselves in court unless they are officers of the court. So as defendants, without legal training or the bar exams behind us, we are obligated and must see the prosecution and defense counsel as competent and with the interest of the accused at heart.

Do prosecutors and defense counselors not "shop" around the judiciary system to seek justices they respectively deem to be sympathetic to their cause? Stop it Prof Prempeh its beneath you.

If the state is sued it stands to reason that the state lawyer (AG) should be defending the state and not the employees in the entity established by the state. They are only employees.
