THE RENT COMMISSIONER SHOULD BE WARNED THAT THESE COMMUNITY-ORIENTED PEOPLE WILL STOP RENTING THEIR PROPERTIES TO GOVERNMENT WORKERS. THE STATE SHOULD PROVIDE HOUSING FOR ITS WORKERS IN THE RURAL AREAS AND SMALL TOWNS.

NDC just like PNDC believe in price control. Mahama must arrest the high cost of building materials and and rent will automatically come down. Price control can not bring down rent. His brother Ibrahim should be selling a bag of cement for 20 cedis and rent will drop. You don't expect some one to buy a ton of iron rod for 8000 cedis expect rent to be 200 cedis, just for the president Mahama to score cheap political popularity. Landlords will simply not offer their properties for rent.
